Construction nearly completed at the Erasme campus of the European Plotkin Institute for Vaccinology.

Construction work at our brand-new facility on the Erasme campus of the Université libre de Bruxelles is advancing at full throttle and is projected to be completed by July of this year.

Combining vaccine trials and in-depth analyses of the immune system makes us better prepared to evaluate and help develop vaccines.

Vaccine Trials

We have a long-standing experience in running (inter)national vaccine safety and efficacy and immunogenicity trials. Our institute is contributing to the development and evaluation of vaccines targeting epidemic and endemic pathogens.

Immunology

Our scientists perform in-depth and systems analyses of immune responses to vaccines and pathogens. This knowledge combined with controlled human challenge studies will provide pivotal knowledge to help develop future vaccines.

The best of both worlds

Universiteit Antwerpen and Université libre de Bruxelles are the driving forces behind the institute. Together we can help evaluate vaccines in months, not years.

The European Plotkin Institute for Vaccinology will be fully operational in the second quarter of 2022. We’ll work in our new, state-of-the-art facilities in Antwerp and Brussels.
